Wave parameters are recorded using a Datawell Directional WaveRider Mk III buoy. The buoy was first deployed on 1 January 2007. The first image shows the buoy buried in Chesil beach.
The shore station is kindly hosted by Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

12/01/2007 The wave buoy has developed a fault, which is under investigation by Datawell. Only the GPS position and sea surface temperature are correct.
09/01/2007 The wave buoy has come away from its mooring and has been recovered. The buoy will be re-deployed as soon as the faults previously identified have been fixed.
